So you have an idea that’s going to make millions…or keep you financially comfortable. Sounds great! Good Luck! But hold on a second…before you get started, I think you might want to answer some questions…some tough questions.
Are you ready? You sure? Okay, let’s go.
- Does what you want to create work well for your personality?
- Can you motivate yourself to do whatever it takes that needs to be done?
- Can you take responsibility for yourself and your actions?
- Do you work and play well with others?
- How are your organizational and structural skills?
- Are you a decisive person? Remember; he who hesitates is lost, especially in business.
- Are the words perseverance and determination etched in your brain?
- Do you have the support of friends and loved ones? Are there people in your life that are good listeners, sounding boards, non-judgmental, and give really good hugs?
- Do you work better alone, or with a partner?
- If alone, can you handle being isolated for long periods of time without losing your focus, determination, work ethic…and most importantly, you’re MIND?
- If with a partner…are you compatible with each other? Do you get along outside the business arena? How long have you known each other, meaning…how well do you know each other? When he or she asks to borrow a few bucks, do they pay you back on time, or at all? Can you trust them to house-sit your dog?
These are just some of the questions that you need to take a good hard look at. It’s relatively easy to start a business...relatively easy to lose a business. If you’ve answered “no” to some of these questions, don’t worry, there’s no need panic, we have it in ourselves to change. We really do. And you might have already started…by showing your interest and reading this blog. Next week, I’ll go more in depth…and one last thing: no matter what you’re doing…have fun doing it.
